Are Desktops Still Good To Have Around?

With portability being the way to go, desktop computers are becoming a thing of the past. With the new mobile devices such as iPhones, Blackberries and other smart phone on the market, they are making portability a desired commodity. Just walk down the street and you will see how true this really is.

These days if you have to wait till you get home to check your e-mails, make twitter updates, or blog about your adventure at the store then you are already behind. These mobile devices create opportunities to stay connected all the time. Just recently the introduction of netbooks has given an even bigger push for computers on the go.

Additionally, notebooks and laptops are becoming more powerful than ever before having the same capabilities as most desktop computers but take up less space and are portable. So why would anyone want to purchase a desktop computer? They are big, bulky and take up a large amount of needed space at home or in the office.

Desktops are still a great thing to have in the home, regardless of what people think. They tend to cost less, and you are able to do more functions with them. Being stationary is another good thing.

Many parents are still cautious of the internet and what can be found on it so they like to have a home computer that is out in the open and stays there in order to see what their kids are doing on it. Because laptops are so portable it makes it easy for children to take it somewhere where their parents are not so having a desktop provides stability for parents.

The style of desktops has changed over the years and they are becoming more and more functional for home use. Numerous companies are producing the all-in-one computer that has everything built into the screen so it takes up less space. These types of computers take up a little more room than regular laptops but have twice the screen size.

Desktops are also more inexpensive. You can pay for the portability of a laptop but get a lot less computer. Also with laptops you will need to buy some sort of carrying case and other accessories that will end up costing you some more in the future.

With this it is easy to see why we still need desktops. There are many options to choose from, so take a look aroundyou may see something you like.
